It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the Cathedral of the Annunciation Centennial Celebration web site. Gary Padussis, General Chairperson and his committee chairpersons under the guidance of the Very Reverend Constantine Moralis, Cathedral Dean and the Parish Council have prepared a calendar of events that not only commemorate the first hundred years of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation but of Orthodoxy in the State of Maryland.

Religious, cultural and social events have been planned that honor the efforts of our church founders and point the community to the future. We thank our founders for establishing the traditions of the Orthodox Church in Maryland and passing on elements of our cultural heritage to subsequent generations.

A Centennial history is being prepared to include new information about the early years of the community discovered by parish historian, Nicholas M. Prevas, and to cover the period 1982-2004. The history of our community is rich and the Centennial history serves as a testament to the growth of the Annunciation community from 1906-2006.

May God’s blessings shine bright on the Annunciation community as we move into our second century of service to Him.
