Today is the beginning of our salvation and the manifestation of the mystery that is from eternity. The Son of God becomes the Son of the Virgin, and Gabriel announces the good tidings of grace.
Therefore let us also join Him and cry aloud to the Theotokos: Hail, thou art full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Apolitikion of the Annunciation

Beloved,

With great joy and anticipation, I wish to invite you to be part of the Centennial Celebration (1906-2006) of our beloved Greek Orthodox Cathedrial of the Annunciation in Baltimore, Maryland. For nearly 100 years, the Annunciation has served as a beakon of hope to the faithful Orthodox Christians. The founders of this church, with fervent prayer, stands as a testament in knowing how to persevere.

Our community is blessed in many ways. The parishioners are proud of their faith and demonstrate it with all of their hearts. Our Cathedral edifice is one of the most beautiful places of worship, clearly illustrating much of the glory of Byzantium. We have been blessed with many hierarchical visits, including His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Archbishop Demetrios of America and Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey.

During these 100 years, the Greek Orthodox community has been part of the growth of our city, with our parish playing a part in some major events that have taken place.

I invite you to join us as we celebrate this major milestone with our entire community. Please refer to this website often to see the many events that are planned as well as the online photographs.

Offering to you my most sincere prayers as we embark on this historic celebration, I remain

Most Sincerely in Christ,
