CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION CALENDAR OF EVENTS

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2005, 7PM CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION CONCERT

An Evening of Sacred Orthodox Music will be performed by the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation Choir in the sancturary of the Cathedral at 24W Preston Street. The concert, with choral works in English and Greek, will feature SONG FOR ATHENE by John Tavner. Mrs. Georgia Tangires will direct, with Mrs. Fifi Nichols as organist. In addition to the vocal selections, David Drosinos and the Cathedral Quartet will perform Bernard Crusell's Quartet #1 For Clarinet and Cello.

Following the concert a reception hosted by the Annunciation Philoptochos
Society in honor of the Cathedral Choir, David Drosinos and the Cathedral Quartet
will be held at the Annunciation Orthodox Center.

Secured parking is available on the open lot across Maryland Avenue from the Cathedral or in our garage 1/2 block south on Maryland Avenue

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2005 BYZANTIUM LECTURE

We are pleased to have the preeminent Byzantine scholar, Dr. Gary Vikan, Director of the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, present an informative and entertaining slide lecture on "the Glory of Byzantium/Understanding Iconography" after Liturgy. This lecture will be held at the Annunciation Orthodox Center.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2005 CENTENNIAL BIRTHDAY PARTY

The Centennial Birthday Party for the children of our Annunciation community, with activities, entertainment and refreshments, will be scheduled at 7:00p.m. in the Father Constantine M. Monios Hall.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2005 WALTERS ART MUSEUM

Plan to attend a formal evening of dinner and tours of the special exhibitions from the Dumbarton Oaks Museum in Washington and "The Golden Age of Russian Icons - Novgorod the Great" from Russia.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 1, 2006 GLENDI

A New Year Celebration for the entire family will be held at Martin's West with music, dancing and dinner.

SATURDAY, MARCH 18, 2006 GREAT VESPERS

Great Vespers will be held in the evening with a coffee reception following in the Father Constantine M. Monios Hall.

SUNDAY, MARCH 19, 2006 CENTENNIAL GRAND BANQUET

Following the Devine Services at the Cathedral, there will be a Grand Banquet at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel, 700 Aliceanna Street Please plan to attend this memorable and historical occasion!
. This event will be the culmination of the Cathedral's 100th Anniversary Celebration.
